Accolade is a superior macho, which has been recognised through his status as a recommended wool sire in the SRS^® breeding system. His fleece and skin test results (below) attest to his superiority and his fibre attributes make him a valued genetic resource.

In fibre fineness, he has very fine primary and secondary fibres and great uniformity (low Standard Deviation) in both. His fibre density of 61 fibre follicles per mm² (which places him at the top end of the scale), high fibre growth rate, and secondary to primary fibre ratio of 12:1 make Accolade an outstanding male and equipped to breed progeny, producing above average fleece weight. These highly heritable fleece characteristics make him a valued seed-stock sire for ultra fine alpaca fibre production.

As Accolade is used widely in our own herd, there are a limited number of opportunities for outside breeders to avail themselves of his genetics. Please talk to us regards his availability.
